A lot of cool events are happening around the Heart of Illinois; and Jona from KISS wants to fill you in!


Peoria Chiefs – May 17th

The Peoria Chiefs will take on Clinton at 6:30 pm at Dozer Stadium. Individual tickets are $11 for advance dugout seating, $10 for advance field seating and $8* for lawn seats and are available at the Peoria Chiefs Box Office, by calling 309-680-4008 or online at www.PeoriaChiefs.com

*Tickets for games with fireworks are $1 additional.


Live at the Five Spot – May 18th

Live at the Five Spot at the Contemporary Art Center will feature a local band beginning at 5:30 pm. Admission is $8 for members, $12 for non-members, $7 for student & senior members and $11 for student & senior non-members.

Kid’s Night Out – May 19th

A Kid’s Night Out will take place at Peoria Elite Gymnastics Academy (located at 2240 W Altorfer Dr. in Peoria) from 6 – 9:30 pm. Featuring games, pizza plus supervised play on gymnastic equipment, trampolines, tumble trak, foam pits and a zipline. Admission is $20 for the first child and $15 for each additional child for siblings & friends who register together. Preregistration and payment is required in advance.

The Peoria Chiefs will take on Kane County at 2 pm at Dozer Stadium. Individual tickets are $11 for advance dugout seating, $10 for advance field seating and $8* for lawn seats and are available at the Peoria Chiefs Box Office, by calling 309-680-4008 or online at www.PeoriaChiefs.com

Masterpiece Mondays – May 21st

Masterpiece Mondays will be held in the Pekin High School Art Room (located at 1903 Court St, Pekin) from 4 – 5:30 pm. Classes are for ages 6 – 18. There is an $89 fee which covers most materials, and $99 if registered less than 7 days prior to start date. Non-residents must pay an extra $3. Art will include Zentangle, Scratchboard, Collograph Rubbings, Collograph Prints, Pastel Drawings and Tie Dye T-Shirts.

Sarah Marie Dillard – May 22nd

Sarah Marie Dillard will host the Red Barn Open Stage (located at 621 W Glen Ave. in Peoria) beginning at 9 pm. Admission is free.


Morton Civic Chorus – May 23rd & 24th

Encore 2018 featuring the Morton Civic Chorus will take place Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2 pm at the Hartmann Center Theater on the Bradley University Campus. Under the direction of Denise Adams, all proceeds benefit the Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund (CIMKF), supporting kidney dialysis patients in the tri-county area.

Louie Louie Parade & RiverJam – May 25th

The 31st Annual St. Jude Louie Louie Parade and RiverJam will take place on the Peoria Riverfront featuring a kazoo parade kicking off at 4:30 pm. The RiverJam will feature live music by Jamm Sammich, 3 and a Half Men and more. Admission is free and for all ages.

Peter Pan – May 26th

Central Illinois Ballet will present Peter Pan at the ICC Performing Arts Center beginning at 7 pm. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $10 for kids 12 & under and are available at the ICC box office.

Summer Camp Music Festival – May 26th

The 2018 Summer Camp Music Festival will be held at Three Sisters Park (located at 17201 N State Route 29 in Chillicothe) beginning Thursday with a pre-party and running through Sunday evening. With more than 20,000 attendees, the event features more than 125 bands on 9 stages over 3 days. The festival also features a kid’s camp, many non-profit organizations, on-site camping, unique arts & craft artisans plus a variety of food and beer.

Jazz Nights in the Heights May Concert – May 27th

Stephanie Aaron will perform during the May “Jazz Nights in the Heights” Concert Series at the Trailside Event Center above Trefzger’s Bakery (located at 4416 N Prospect Road in Peoria Heights) at 7:15 pm. The CIJS House Band, under the leadership of Larry Harms, will open at 6 pm. Admission is $6 for members, $8 non-members and free for students. A cash bar and food will be available for purchase.
