HOI Happenings
Join the Peoria Area Civic Chorale, the Peoria Area Civic Chorale Chamber Orchestra, the Peoria Area Civic Chorale Youth Chorus, and the Children’s Festival Chorus for a season-ending concert performance of diverse music that will inspire souls and lift spirits, featuring one of the most serene, comforting, inspirational, and beloved works of choral music ever written – Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. Other selections include “God Bless the USA,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and more. Performances are May 3 & 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Five Points Washington and May 5 at 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Peoria. Tickets available at www.peoriacivicchorale.org, by calling 309-693-6725 or at the door.
This signature FamilyCore event promises to be an amazing time for everyone involved, featuring delicious food, Derby-themed drinks, silent and live auctions, games, “best dressed” prizes, and much more, all leading up to the main event: the running of the Kentucky Derby!
In addition to all the fun of hats, horses, jockeys, and spirits, the Kentucky Derby Soirée is a fundraiser for FamilyCore, supporting their work with children, parents, schools, the court system, and other social services agencies in the Peoria area for the past 123 years. Last year alone, FamilyCore touched 15,806 lives.
All proceeds from the Kentucky Derby Soirée will help FamilyCore provide the necessary counseling, intervention, preventative education, and other support services for those in need in our community.
